Strengths-based Leadership

The Gallup Organization identifies Strength-based leadership as a means to develop three keys to become a more effective leader:
1. Knowing your strengths and investing in others' strengths
2. Getting people with the right strengths on your team
3. Understanding and meeting the four basic needs of those who look to you for leadership.
Strengths-based leadership emphasizes identifying your key strengths - what you are the most effective at - and seeking to improve upon it. The current popular leadership model is focused on identifying weaknesses, and seeking to improve those. Strengths-based leadership rejects this idea in favor of working to become the best at what you are already good at, rather than raising your level of performance in a weakness from poor to mediocre.

According to Gallup's Strengths Finder assessment, a number of possible combinations of the 34 different themes above can be possessed by a single individual. Each unique strength identifies with each of the four main domains of strengths.
The appealing design of the StrenthsFinder assessment allows each individual to possess their own combination and sequence of strengths. There are over 33 million possible combinations of top five themes for the assessment.
Each individual has leadership qualities, and each individual has the capability to become an effective leader. Through recognizing their strengths, any individual can develop their own abilities and further enhance their experiences both individually and within a team setting.
